PLEASE SHARE WITH ELDERLY FAMILY AND FRIENDS: Wigan Council’s “Here for You” campaign is helping pensioners to see if they’re eligible for Pension Credit.
Currently, around 4,000 pensioners in Wigan Borough are missing out on Pension Credit, which the Council is working to change, because Pension Credit is worth around £3,900 a year and unlocks additional support including the Winter Fuel Payment, help with Council Tax, NHS dental care and a free TV licence for those over 75.
Wigan Council is hosting a number of events to help local people apply for this financial support, so why not come along or let your loved ones know they're happening? Upcoming events at Wigan Life Centre are:* 10 October 2024, 10am to 4pm
* 17 October 2024, 10am to 4pm
* 24 October 2024, 10am to 4pm.
Alternatively, residents are able to drop in at Wigan Life Centre in the new “Here for You” room for advice and support, Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm .
