In recent months, an increasing number of HGVs have been using Ridyard Street as a “rat run” to get to Ormskirk Road. Many of these vehicles have been getting stuck, unaware that the road is now a dead-end.
It was clear that the current dead-end sign did not give HGV drivers enough warning, and that additional signage was needed.
Now, a new “Unsuitable for HGVs” sign has been installed further up Ridyard Street. This gives drivers plenty of warning, which will hopefully address the issue.
