Douglas Ward Remembrance Service 2023

This morning, we attended our annual Douglas Ward Remembrance Service, held at Alexandra Park Bowling Green. The service was led by Rev’d Roland Harvey.

Thank you to everyone who came to pay their respects to the fallen. We honour all those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in both World Wars, and in all conflicts before and since.

Let us also remember, and pay tribute, to all our veterans who came home. We must always remember the ones who never came back, but we are thankful for the ones who did.

We also want to thank the children and teachers from St. Mark’s Primary School. Y5 & Y6 classes were in attendance, and laid their own tributes.

A huge thank you to Karina who played the Last Post, and to Kevin and John who worked hard to prepare the Bowling Green.

After the service, we attended St. Mark’s Hub Café for refreshments, served by our marvellous volunteers, who catered for many.
